Daulat Khan Lodi

Daulat Khan Lodi was the governor of Lahore during the reign of Ibrahim Lodi, the last ruler of the Lodi dynasty. Due to disaffection with Ibrahim, Daulat invited Babur to invade the kingdom.

Background

Ibrahim Lodi (Urdu: دولت خان لودی), Daulat Khan's sovereign, was a weak ruler. He was in a power struggle with his brother as well as the other nobles and ministers. Daulat Khan, along with Alam Khan (an uncle of Ibrahim), conspired against Ibrahim Lodi and invited Babur to invade Delhi. Ibrahim Khan Lodi lost his life in the battle of Panipat in 1526. These events paved the way for the Mughal Empire[1].
